UFC president Dana White has been putting on the biggest women's MMA fights since 2013. The organization's leading man has put on fights with the likes of Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg, Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, and many others.
His latest statement regarding the potential upcoming rematch between UFC bantamweight champion Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes came as quite a shock. Dana White thinks it would be the biggest fight in women's MMA history.
“The Peña rematch with Nunes will probably be the biggest women’s of all time. That rematch will be the biggest women’s fight of all time,” White told ESPN.
Currently, the biggest women's fight in MMA history is considered Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm at UFC 193 in 2015.
“Every way that it could possibly be (topped), it will. I don’t think it, I know it. It will crush that fight.”
Julianna Pena scored a huge upset over Amanda Nunes at UFC 269 earlier this month. The result is considered one of, if not, the biggest upset in UFC history.
Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm is also on the list for biggest upsets in UFC history. Rousey was undefeated at the time and Holm had barely fought in the promotion back then.
Dana White seems to be very interested in booking the rematch between the two women. Some UFC fighters like Holly Holm have said they want the opportunity over Amanda Nunes now that there is a new champion.
The UFC is set to have a big year in 2022 with plenty of fun fights to make. Amanda Nunes is expected to make a big return.
