Alexander Volkanovski has recently made it clear that he wants to move up to 155 and fight for a second belt if he beats Max Holloway at UFC 276. Dana White was recently asked about the possibility considering he doesn't always like super fights.

It seems like Alexander Volkanovski has done enough to warrant the opportunity to move up and fight for the lightweight belt. UFC president Dana White was not against the idea of him doing so after beating Max Holloway in July.

“Volkanovski is one of those guys who has earned the respect of everybody by now,” White told The Mac Life (h/t MMA Junkie). “It probably makes sense to do this (Holloway trilogy) and put this behind him, and then you don’t have to hear about it anymore. That guy can do whatever he wants to do. If he wants to move up and challenge somebody at ‘55 or whatever he wants to do, I’m down for whatever he wants.”

There are many obstacles in the way of a super fight happening for Alexander Volkanovski next. He still has to fight the toughest fighter at featherweight in Max Holloway at UFC 276, then there's the question of who has the lightweight championship.

Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev appears to be the next fight for the UFC lightweight belt but Alexander Volkanovski could potentially come in and replace the Russian depending on when he plans to return. The title situation is a bit tricky but there could be some fun matchups next in order to make it work.
