Having fought last back in 2012, MMA fighter Dan Hardy had been working as an analyst for the UFC for quite some time. However, it seems that has all come to an end, as Dana White and the UFC have let the 38-year-old veteran go.
Apparently, during UFC 258, Hardy found himself in an argument with a female employee on set. Things took a nasty turn. So much so, that the UFC felt Hardy needed to be completely removed from the company.
Dan Hardy issued a long apology, via Full Reptile News:
“I have apologized to the individual, for the embarrassment they must have felt, as a small handful of our colleagues from the British media were present. We were taking a brief break from recording UFC 258 content, a few hours after the Holloway Kattar event had concluded, when the disagreement occurred. The conversation could have definitely taken place in a better location, and under better circumstances.”
It's still unknown exactly what was said during the exchange with the female employee. However, for someone to be fired for arguing, it likely means Hardy was making some foul comments.
However, it seems as though Hardy himself is unsure as to why he's being let go:
“The result of [the UFC's] brief and private investigation has left me with little closure, and hope that at some point I’m able to get more information of what I’ve actually been accused.”
It's an odd situation for Dan Hardy, the UFC, and the female employee involved. There will surely be more news about what Hardy said during the argument that led to his departure from the organization.
