Joanna Jedrzejczyk is yet to make her return to the UFC cage but she's paying attention to the title picture with Rose Namajunas currently the champion. Her old foe Carla Esparza is expected to be the next title challenger.

Carla Esparza beat Rose Namajunas in the first-ever UFC strawweight title fight. Joanna Jedrzejczyk expects things to be very different this time around.

“I think that Rose will defend her belt,” UFC strawweughtJedrzejczyk told MMA Junkie while attending Eagle FC 46. “Carla won back in the day in 2014, but both of them are totally different fighters, different athletes with different mentality, as well, but I think that Rose will win this fight. She’s very strong. She’s very, very fast. Her timing is just perfect with her footwork. Of course, Carla has a few wins streak, but Rose is a different level, I think.”

Joanna Jedrzejczyk has fought both women and had very different results against each. Jedrzejczyk defeated Carla Esparza by TKO back in 2015 to become the second strawweight champion ever in the promotion. She fought Rose Namajunas at UFC 217 where she shockingly lost by knockout after getting caught by a big punch.

They would rematch later on and Rose Namajunas won again, this time by unanimous decision. Namajunas has been a very tough UFC champion to beat and she bounced back after losing her title to Jessica Andrade.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is hoping to return soon to the UFC with a fight against Weili Zhang. It will have to be seen if the organization agrees with the fight being booked.
