Conor McGregor is a wanted man in the UFC as everyone seems to want to fight him. You can now add Henry Cejudo to that list as the former double champion looks to get the biggest fights possible.
Henry Cejudo has been looking to get a big fight in his potential UFC comeback. Alex Volkanovski has been talked about before but now it appears Conor McGregor is the next target for the former double champ.
Henry Cejudo took to his podcast in order to viciously call out Conor McGregor. The former UFC champion wants to make sure the Irishman is sober before the fight actually happens.
“He’s nothing but a damn bronze medallist, if that, he’s a ribbon holder in my eyes. I’ll tell you what Conor McGregor, let me make you a deal. I will literally go up to 155 pounds to fight you if you’re willing to be sober for the fight. What’s up.”
“I will literally go to 155 pounds if Conor McGregor can pass sobriety. I think that’s even, I think that’s a great fight and a great negotiation tactic.”
Fighting at 155 is quite crazy for Henry Cejudo considering he has fought as low as 125 in his career. McGregor has fought as high as 170 against Nate Diaz at UFC 196 and UFC 202.
It will have to be seen if the UFC has any interest in working with Henry Cejudo again and if they'll be interested in booking him against Conor McGregor. The organization has not been interested in working with him after his abrupt retirement in 2020.
