Lupita Godinez continues to impress the MMA world as she takes her first couple of UFC fights on extremely short notice. This time it paid off as she beat Loma Lookboonmee by unanimous decision.

The UFC record she broke was for quickest turnaround. Three fights in a matter of days. It was only the icing on the cake for Lupita Godinez.

“It feels great,” the UFC strawweight said to the media. “That’s just the cherry on top. I love to fight. I love to be here, so that’s just the sprinkles on top, so that’s pretty cool.”

“I’m not fighting to break records, it’s just happening. So if I break records then I’ll break records. I’m OK with that.”

The first round at UFC Vegas 43 was a little slow for the Mexican-Canadian but she eventually found her rythm. The last two rounds were excellent.

“I had a little bit of a hard time in the first round. I was mostly feeling her out and stuff. Second round and third round I saw more openings and I got a little more used to her movements. That’s pretty much what I saw.”

“She’s a multiple-time world champion in muay-Thai, so I just took my time. I usually just go with what they give me and I had to take my time in this one.”

Lupita Godinez is quickly becoming a UFC fan favorite with her fun personality and love of fighting. It's not out of the question to see her compete again this year.
