Earlier this week, former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez was arrested and charged with attempted murder. Former UFC star and current WWE superstar Ronda Rousey appears to be coming to Velasquez's defense.

Rousey posted on Twitter Thursday morning: “I would have done the same thing if not worse… #freeCainVelasquez.”

According to TMZ Sports, Velasquez was arrested Monday morning in San Jose, California after he allegedly tried to kill Harry Goularte. Goularte is a 43-year-old man who is suspected of inappropriately touching a member of Velasquez's family at a child care facility a few days prior.

A young relative of Velasquez attended a day care run by Goularte mother. Goularte resides at that same location, according to a report from The Mercury News. Goularte was arrested and charged with child molestation. However, following his arraignment on February 25th, Goularte was granted his release from a judge despite the District Attorney's objection. He was ordered to stay in home detention, wearing an electronic bracelet and was not allowed within 100 yards of children 14 years or younger. Obviously, Goularte did not stay home.

Velasquez reportedly chased down Goularte and his family by vehicle. He rammed them with his Ford truck before ultimately firing gunshots repeatedly and hitting Goularte's stepfather in the arm.

Velasquez was arraigned on Wednesday and faces multiple felony charges, including attempted premeditated murder. He is being held without bond.

Any parent and even people without children can understand why Cain Velasquez was outraged. But as he appears to be finding out, that does not give him the right to attempt to kill that person.
