Thirteen-year MMA veteran Jessica ‘Evil' Eye announced her retirement after a unanimous decision loss against Maycee Barber at UFC 276. Eye finishes her career with 15 wins (5 in UFC) and 11 losses (10 in UFC).
“I think it's time,” Eye said. “I've won in the Octagon. I've lost in the Octagon. I've spent my 20s and most of my 30s doing this and now I want to see what the rest of the world looks like.”
Eye also spoke about being a mentor to Barber, who is currently on a three-fight win streak.
Congratulations @JessicaEvilEye on a great career 👏

Eye's retirement might come as a surprise to some. In an interview with MMA Island, Eye stated that she wanted two wins to get back on track for a shot at a title. The loss on Saturday marks her fourth straight.
The 35-year-old was one of the first women to sign with the UFC back in 2013. She previously fought for the North American Allied Fight Series (NAAFS), Ring of Combat (ROC), and Bellator.

Prior to joining the organization, Eye held a 10-1 record and was a former ROC 130 lbs women's champion.
A natural flyweight, Eye made the jump to bantamweight for her UFC debut at UFC 166. In her debut, she fought Sarah Kaufman and won via split decision. The victory was later overturned to a no-contest after Eye tested positive for marijuana.
Eye dropped back down to flyweight for a bout against Kalindra Faria at Fight Night: Stephens vs Choi and fought Valentina Shevchenko for the Women's Flyweight Championship at UFC 238.
In 2018, Eye was named “Comeback Fighter of the Year” by MMAJunkie.com after she took a year-long hiatus from fighting.
Eye was one of the more exciting fighters in women's MMA. She flashed terrific and agile striking combined with stout takedown defense. She will definitely be missed.
