Famed UFC referee John McCarthy has opened up about the true Nick Diaz that people are not aware of.
Throughout his entire UFC career, Nick, as well as his younger bother Nathan Diaz, has been viewed as a thug. However, contrary to what was already written on his legacy, “Big” John McCarthy reckoned that Nick Diaz is no complete thug but a “good guy” who can also be a very affectionate person.

And he is a good f***ing guy who will spend time with people and give you the shirt off his back if its something that he looks at as important.”
“He’s not what people perceive him to be, is you know just thug. He’s not a thug,” he continued. “He’s very intellectual as far as what he cares about, he is involved with. He cares about it deeply, he will help other people with it.”
Diaz made his UFC return in September at UFC 266 against fellow veteran Robbi Lawler. As expected, the 38-year-old put on a show but ultimately, it was far from the Diaz many were expecting to see.
Some believe that Diaz has lost his passion for fighting but whatever the real reason behind his decline was, the one thing certain is that he is still loved by his fans.
