The U.S. Open has arrived and it is shaping up to be a good one. Below we will continue our PGA Tour odds series as we hand out a U.S. Open prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the event.

The U.S. Open is a major, so the best of the best will be competing no matter which tour they play on. Last season, Wyndham Clark edged out Rory McIlroy by one stroke after shooting 10-under par. There was a bit of luck involved as he shot even par in the Sunday round. McIlroy shot even par, as well, which is why he fell by one stroke. Scottie Scheffler came in third place at seven-under par, as well.

The U.S. Open is played at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, and it will utilize course number two. It is a longer course as it comes in at 7,548 total yards, and it just a par 70. This means there are some long par fours, and par threes. In fact, hole four is 528 yards, hole 16 is 530 yards, and they both play as a par four. There are two par fives, and they come in at 588 yards, and 617 yards. Players have to be solid with their drives and put themselves in good position to hit their irons into the green.

U.S. Open favorite picks

Scottie Scheffler: Scheffler is the massive favorite, and it is for good reason. He has won five of his 13 starts this season, and he has 12 top-10 finishes. Within those, Scheffler has finished second or third four times. He is a threat to win any event he tees off at, and that is going to be the case at Pinehurst. Scheffler is a little unorthodox with his game, but he seems to be hitting everything well. He is the best golfer in the world for a reason, and he will once again show why at the US Open.

Xander Schauffele: Schauffele has fallen a tad under the radar, but he is having a great season on tour. He is second in the FedEx Cup standings, and he won the PGA Championship earlier this season. Of his 14 starts, Schauffele has finished in the top-10 10 times. After winning the PGA Championship, Schauffele had an eighth-place finish at the Memorial last weekend. He is one of the best on tour with his irons, and he can sink any putt. With the way he is playing, I would not be surprised to see him in the winners circle.

Collin Morikawa: Morikawa has yet to record a win this season. However, he has finished in the top-10 six times, and he finished second at the Memorial last season. In fact, Morikawa has finished T4, 4, and 2 in his last three starts. He is swinging the clubs well, and I fully expect that to continue this weekend. Morikawa is first in driving percentage on the PGA Tour, so he will hit his fairways. As long as his iron play is good, he will finished towards the top of this leaderboard.

U.S. Open sleeper picks

Bryson DeChambeau: As mentioned, this course is playing long. At over 7500 yards, one would expect a par 71 or 72. As a par 70, golfers really have to strike the ball well. When he is at his best, DeChambeau is a one of the better ball strikers, and he probably has the most distance of any golfer on any tour. In his two majors this season, DeChambeau has been lights out. He finished sixth at the Masters, and second at the PGA Championship. At times, it looked like he was going to win both those events, as well. If he plays like he did in the previous two majors, DeChambeau will be at the top of this leaderboard, as well.

Ludvig Aberg: Aberg has officially burst onto the scene. He has six top-10 finishes this season, and two runner-ups. One of those runner-ups came at the Masters in April. Aberg is also coming off a T5 finish at the Memorial last weekend. He is seventh in total strokes gained, and does pretty much every part of the game well. If Aberg continues to play well, and if he can strike his irons well, he is a threat to win.

Final U.S. Open prediction and pick

It feels too easy to pick Scheffler to win this event. He is a great pick no matter what, though. However, I do not want to go with the easy choice here. I like what Bryson DeChambeau has done in majors this season, and I expect it to continue in this one. I will take Bryson DeChambeau to win the U.S. Open.
