Caleb Williams of USC football is the reigning, defending Heisman Trophy winner, an athletic and precise quarterback who can pick defenses apart through the air and on the ground. Williams and his teammates reeled off a 56-28 victory over San Jose State in the team's opening game.

Williams had 278 yards passing and four touchdowns on the day. The USC football team had 341 passing yards to 198 for their opponents at the LA Memorial Coliseum.

The debut of an unreal weapon for the USC football team made headlines nationwide, catching the attention of Head Coach Lincoln Riley. Riley took former five-star Raleek Brown off the depth chart in leading up to the team's next game vs. Nevada.

The program is busy making moves, but the feelings of the opener haven't left Williams just yet. The game was closer at halftime than Williams and the Trojans expected, leading to frustration according to their leader at quarterback.

“I feel good, (but) walking off that field, there's a bit of frustration,” Williams said. “In the first half, it just felt like we weren't hitting on certain calibers that we're going to hit on soon.”

Riley and the USC football team rotated offensive linemen along the line often during Week One, and Riley said it happened for positive reasons as the team continues to tweak things and find its identity heading toward conference play in the Pac-12.

“A lot of it is for positive reasons,” Riley said. “We've got some things to sort out. We think we've got multiple guys capable of being starters.”
