The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook released their over/under betting lines for all NBA teams on Tuesday and the Minnesota Timberwolves are pecked at 41.5 wins.

The Wolves have had a miserable history in their 27 years of being an NBA franchise. Originally one of the expansion teams, they reached the playoffs in eight straight seasons, losing in the first round for the first seven, then getting bounced out by the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals in 2004.

Regardless of history, Minnesota showed a true resurgence last year, taking a 16-66 team to a 29-53 one that now is bound to get that much better with more experienced back-to-back Rookies of the Year on Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins plus an incredibly talented rookie guard on Kris Dunn.

The rapid maturation of Wiggins, who is already averaging 20.7 points per game in his second season, brings forth a scary lineup to the Western Conference.

What to expect next season

While the talent presented is plenty to get fans excited, is it enough to bet on it? Yes and no.

The thing that makes this team take a huge leap in the odds is the coaching.

The Timberwolves job was amongst the most coveted one this offseason, ultimately ending in the hands of Tom Thibodeau — a defense-first coach that will make young guys earn their minutes through discipline and commitment, while letting the reins loose on offense to reward them for it.

But perhaps the X-factor is the impact of Kevin Garnett as a secondary coach and mentor on the floor. He's a player that has won a championship and the respect of nearly everyone he's played against.

A young team with a mentor and coach that instill discipline and work ethic is a team that has potential to get better every year. Even if you don't bet on them this year, you can bet on them taking the NBA by storm very, very soon.
