San Diego State upset Stanford on Saturday evening. Most would think that would be the biggest story coming out of that game, but it is actually playing second fiddle to something far more ridiculous.

Toward the end of the event, as San Diego State was on a drive to pull off the upset, the lights at Qualcomm Stadium went off. Like, there were no lights.

Here is the proof:

This gives the #Pac12AfterDark hashtag a new, literal meaning.

Cardinal quarterback Keller Chryst was mostly ho-hum on Saturday. In fact, he had arguably the worst outing as a starter in his career. He finished the game with just eight completions for an unremarkable 56 yards and the game-sealing interception with 48 seconds left.

Luckily for Stanford, relatively speaking, the team did manage to rush it for 184 yards and two scores. In the grand scheme of things, this loss is a really bad one for the Cardinal, as it puts them out of the hunt for the College Football Playoff.

Aztecs running back Rashaad Penny was phenomenal on Satuday. He wound up with 206 all-purpose yards and one touchdown, the bulk coming on 175 ground-churning rushing yards. Penny headed into the game with a lot of hoopla, as many who cover SDSU were claiming him to be one of the best running backs in the entire nation.

Quarterback Christian Chapman was efficient to bring balance to the offense. He tossed it around for 187 yards and the game-winning touchdown toss.

Nothing says college football like a little warm coast upset.
