There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding a bizarre situation with Everson Griffen, but the Minnesota Vikings are denying a report that he was recently arrested, according to ProFootballTalk.

Ryan Raiche of KSTP-TV reported that Griffen was involved in an incident at a hotel in Minneapolis where he allegedly made threats to shoot someone. Police redacted the name of the suspect in the report, but according to Raiche, that individual was Griffen.

Later, Seth Kaplan of Fox 9 reported that Griffen tried to break into a teammates house and was arrested, but the team strongly denied that report.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Griffen has been dealing with a mental health crisis for weeks:

The Vikings did release this statement on the situation:

“We are aware of the situation involving Everson Griffen and certainly concerned by what we have heard,” Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman said in a statement Monday night. “We are currently focused on Everson’s well-being and providing the appropriate support for him and his family.”

The Vikings are focused on getting Griffen the help he needs before he returns to the team, so there is a good chance he could miss extended time. Griffen is a key on defense for the Vikings, and they missed his presence and leadership in Sunday's 27-6 against the Buffalo Bills.

Hopefully, Griffen will be able to take care of these issues and return to the team.
