Minnesota Vikings fans are welcoming the new week with arms wide open after Kirk Cousins and company weathered the storm that was the San Francisco 49ers at home Monday night. The 22-17 win also gave Minnesota a reason to blast Creed from the speakers, particularly the band's hit “Higher,” which was also played hours before by the Texas Rangers following their Game 7 win in the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros.

When informed about the Rangers celebrating their win while jamming to the same song, Cousins did not seem to be all bothered by it, even mentioning that the Vikings can also choose other songs from Creed's catalog.

“Creed has a lot of hits, the Vikings signal-caller said. “We don't have to only play ‘Higher'. But they're taking us higher so we'll take it.”

Everyone can enjoy Creed. No one should be forced to make a sacrifice here.

As for the Vikings game itself, Cousins balled out for Minnesota. He finished with 378 passing yards with two touchdowns with an interception on 35/45 completions. Wide receiver Jordan Addison stepped up big time downfield, as he came away with 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns on seven catches and 10 targets.

The 49ers had one last breath in the fourth quarter to take the lead, but Vikings safety Camryn Bynum foiled San Francisco with an interception. In fact, Bynum had back-to-back interceptions late in the contest.

With their takedown of the 49ers, the Vikings have improved to 3-4. They will aim to win their third in a row when they travel to Lambeau Field for a Week 8 matchup versus the Green Bay Packers.
