Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs is not happy, so much so that he is not even denying his displeasure to reporters.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Vikings have a “situation on their hands” with Diggs, who seems to be disgruntled over his role and finally spoke to reporters for the first time in two weeks on Thursday.
Diggs said that there was “truth” to all of the rumors about his frustration, and while Rapoport says that Minnesota does not seem intent on trading him unless it receives a blockbuster offer, it doesn't change the fact that Diggs is not thrilled.
The 25-year-old has been visibly bothered on the Vikings' sideline throughout the season, as Minnesota's offense has become very one-dimensional and centered around running back Dalvin Cook.
As a result, Diggs' production has suffered, as he has caught just 13 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown over the first four games. He actually had a breakout performance in Week 4, logging seven catches for 108 yards in a loss to the Chicago Bears, but that did not seem to appease the wideout.
Diggs, who played his collegiate football at the University of Maryland, was originally selected by the Vikings in the fifth round (146th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.
While he has never made a Pro Bowl, Diggs has been one of the most consistent and reliable members of Minnesota's offense since being drafted.
He is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 102 receptions for 1,021 yards and nine touchdowns.
