It sounds optimistic but at the same time, nothing has changed just yet.
The latest report on whether or not Warriors head coach Steve Kerr will return for Game 2 of the NBA Finals vs. the Cavaliers Sunday night at 8 p.m. EST in Oracle Arena looks like this:
Warriors GM Bob Myers says G2 appearance for Kerr is on the table–"but they're all on the table." Reiterated it is up to Kerr; no pressure.

Kerr has missed nearly all of the playoffs due to the poor health of his back. He hasn't traveled when the Warriors have been on the road but he has gotten to where he's making appearances at practices and even has been able to talk to the team in the locker room at halftimes of home games.
Assistant coach Mike Brown has taken over in Kerr's absence and the Warriors haven't missed a beat, still sitting at a perfect 13-0 in the playoffs.
Brown added yesterday that he hasn't heard anything different about Kerr's status and expects to be the acting head coach for Game 2.
Mike Brown on Kerr's status: "No, it's all the same. I'm the coach until they tell me it's different. I haven't heard anything different."

Even without Kerr during games, it's been clear that the culture Kerr helped create remains to operate very well with the Warriors clicking on all cylinders. That evident in Game 1 and with or without Kerr, the Warriors are hoping to keep it going the rest of the series.
