The Golden State Warriors will once again enter the playoffs as the heavy favorites to win the NBA title. They are gunning for their third straight championship, something that only three other franchises have been able to accomplish in the history of the league.

However, there has been speculation all season long that the team will break up after this year, as a lot of people believe that some of their free agents, particularly Kevin Durant will be headed elsewhere this summer.

Prior to signing Durant in the summer of 2016, the Dubs were a 73-9 team that lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals after leading that series 3-1, so a lot of people are already counting them out if Durant does in fact sign with another club this summer.

Fox Sports 1's Colin Cowherd recently talked about this matter with NBA analyst Chris Broussard on his show “The Herd,” and Broussard reminded everyone that if Durant indeed leaves the Warriors this July, Stephen Curry will once again take center stage for Golden State as they continue to contend for titles.

The Warriors have won a championship in 2015 without Durant, and were a few minutes away from going back-to-back in 2016. When Durant joined them two years ago, they became almost unstoppable. But his absence won't make Golden State a mediocre team. As long as they have Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala, they should be fine for a couple more years.
