Sports commentator Colin Cowherd had an interesting take on an alternative NBA history, imagining if LeBron James, not Kevin Durant, joined the Golden State Warriors.

Cowherd claimed that unlike Durant, LeBron James would have re-signed with Golden State and attempted to win another championship in the Bay:

Colin Cowherd based his comments around the fact that LeBron James only left teams that were on the decline, while Durant left teams that were still well put together.

The King left Cleveland, Miami, and then Cleveland again for Los Angeles. Every time, the team that James left failed to qualify for the playoffs the next year. In fact, the Cavaliers finished the season after James' departure with a record of 19-63 and had a 26 game losing streak.

Durant's team, on the other hand, played fairly well after his departure. The year after Durant left the Thunder to go to the Warriors, the Thunder made the playoffs as the sixth seed in the Western Conference. They were knocked out in the first round.

Cowherd's point that LeBron James only leaves teams going downhill is a valid point that has been proven throughout the years. However, we can only imagine what would've happened if James had teamed up with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Perhaps the Warriors would have won even more championships than they did with Durant.
