Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told local reporters Thursday that DeMarcus Cousins is ready for five-on-five scrimmage activity.

Cousins tore his Achilles tendon in January with the New Orleans Pelicans. The All-Star center signed a one-year, $5.3 million deal with the Warriors in July after not receiving any offers from other teams in free agency.

DeMarcus Cousins, 28, was averaging 25.2 points and 12.9 rebounds in 48 regular-season games while shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from beyond the arc and 74.6 percent from the free-throw line with the Pelicans before getting hurt. Once he's ready to play in a game, Cousins will join Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green in the Warriors' starting lineup.

If you're counting at home, that's five All-Stars in one lineup.

Steve Kerr said in the offseason he will not change his style of play despite adding Cousins to the roster. The Warriors push the pace on offense at every turn and move the ball side to side. The ball never sticks in Golden State.

DeMarcus Cousins, meanwhile, often holds the ball as he surveys the floor from the post. Kerr said the Warriors will add a few plays into its playbook for Cousins, but won’t make any drastic changes.
