The intersection between sports and music, more specifically hip-hop and basketball, is always entertaining. Drake continues to be one of the central figures of that intersection.

Despite his affinity for his hometown Toronto Raptors, Drake shows love to NBA players from all around the league. The most recent player Drake “shouted out” was DeMarcus Cousins of the Golden State Warriors.

Drake wore a throwback Boogie Cousins jersey in his “In My Feelings” music video and the newest Warriors star was feeling the love. Cousins took to Twitter to shout out Drake for wearing his high school jersey in the video.

The Alabama native even took his shoutout a step further and showed love to all his fellow alumni of John L. LeFlore High School. LeFlore HS is the home of the Rattlers and Boogie added one of the NBA's favorite emojis—a snake.

Cousins acknowledges how people always seem to take the snake emoji the wrong way, so he makes it abundantly clear that his use of the snake is to shout out his hometown rattlers.

Cousins was highly recruited out of LeFlore HS, eventually landing in Lexington, Kentucky to play for John Calipari and the Wildcats.

It must be a trip for Boogie to see his high school jersey in one of the biggest music videos by one of the biggest artists in the world. But that just signifies the deep ties hip-hop culture and basketball have with one another.
