Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green wanted so badly to end their 2022 NBA Finals series against the Boston Celtics in Game 6, so much so that he even declared that it's over prior to the contest.

As Green's trainer Travis Walton revealed to Jason Dumas of KRON4 News, the Warriors vet boldly declared “this is over” during the warm-ups of Game 6 against the Celtics. Apparently, Dray really aimed to get it done on the road to get back at Boston fans, who were rude and jeered at him without mercy throughout the NBA Finals.

Of course it would have been useless for Draymond Green had he just relied on Stephen Curry and his Warriors teammates to win, so he saved his best game for last. Well, in this case, in their closeout against the Celtics.

Green finished with a near triple-double of 12 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. He also had two steals and two blocks in an all-around effort to help the Warriors take the 103-90 victory and the Larry O'Brien trophy.

The 32-year-old forward has been largely criticized for his abysmal play earlier in the series, so it's certainly surprising to see him make that declaration. However, confidence is something Green never lacked, and it's clear he never doubted what he can do to help the Dubs win the Finals.

Perhaps the next time the Warriors make it to the Finals, they would want Green to make another declaration. If anything, that certainly gives him more motivation to play at his absolute best.
