The Golden State Warriors are slated to take on the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night in a marquee matchup between two of the best teams in their respective conferences. Unfortunately, several injuries will prevent both teams from being at full force when they face off against each other.

Draymond Green is still out for the Warriors as the three-time All-Star continues to nurse a couple of injuries that have kept him out of the lineup for Golden State's last 10 games. Green recently provided a timely update on his road to recovery and it looks like the former Defensive Player of the Year winner is going to be returning to the court sooner rather than later (h/t Anthony Slater of The Athletic):

“I'm feeling great,” Green told the TNT crew in a recent episode of Inside the NBA. “I've been getting stronger each day. I actually got on the court today and got some shots up which was great and a step in the right direction. I'm just trying not to do it too fast, obviously, I want to make sure when I come back that I'm thriving, that I'm playing at an even higher level than I was than before I went out. So that's the goal right now. I'm supposed to see the specialist again at the beginning of the week. So looking forward to that. Hopefully, I can continue to wrap up but the rehab has been going great. I've been extremely excited about the progress that I've made.”

Green sounds very optimistic here but unfortunately, he was not able to provide a timetable on his return date. Aside from his back injury, the Warriors star is also dealing with a calf problem which has turned out to be more problematic than previously expected.

Two weeks ago, the Warriors declared that Dray would be out for at least the next couple of weeks. Obviously, that timetable is now about to lapse which could mean one of two things. First is that Green is now on the brink of returning, which based on his statement above, seems unlikely. The other possibility is that there's been a delay in his rehab which could force him to spend even more time on the shelf.

You can also be sure that the Warriors are going to be extremely cautious with their star and that they won't force Green back unless he's one hundred percent healthy. Either way, Dubs fans will need to be patient as they wait for their team to get back to full strength.
