Aside from playing a crucial role on the court for the Golden State Warriors and their three championships in four years, Dubs star Draymond Green was recently also asked by the team's front office to take part in this year's draft process.

In an extensive interview with The Athletic's Anthony Slater, Green shared his experience as a participant in the entire draft process for the Warriors.

The 28-year-old first explained how it all started.

“It was always something I wanted to do,” Green said. “But the season would always be over, it would be hectic and I’d never be around. I’d go watch a few workouts, but never go through the entire process.

This year, things worked out where I was here. And it was something … it was good to see from the other side, the thought process, everything that goes into drafting players, the research that goes into us. I don’t know where my life goes after my career, but that was a valuable experience.”

As it turns out, Green was nothing but a spectator. He personally went to watch workouts, went through comprehensive medical records, and was even inside the team war room during Draft night.

“I was here the whole day, really,” said Green. “In the war room. You see the calls about trades or, oh, somebody traded their pick. It’s really interesting to see how it all unfolds.”

Green admitted to learning about some juicy trade offers during Draft night, but being the professional that he is, refused to divulge any information.

“Um … yeah. But I’m not going to take that stuff out of the war room,” he said.

Green still has a lot of playing years ahead of him, but if this story is any indication, then it is obvious that he has a future as a front office executive some day.
