Golden State Warriors stud Gary Payton II managed just three minutes of action on Tuesday night before he was forced to the locker room following a hard hit from Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks. Payton was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the game with an elbow injury and right now, things are looking bad for the 29-year-old.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the initial injury report on Payton is that guard/forward has sustained a fracture on his left elbow:

Fractured left elbow for Gary Payton II. MRI tomorrow to better understand how severe. But just a major blow for the Warriors.

As the report states, Payton will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to confirm the severity of the injury. However, a fractured elbow is no joke. This type of injury could take up to four months to heal which means that the worst-case scenario here for Payton and the Warriors is that he could be done for the season.

Golden State will still be holding out hope here and until we hear an official diagnosis, we won't be ruling out Payton just yet. Either way, this is an undeniably brutal blow for Stephen Curry and the Warriors.
