By extending his deal with the Golden State Warriors for just a single season, there is a possibility that Kevin Durant signs with another team next summer. However, his current teammates do not appear to be overly concerned.

According to Frank Isola of The Athletic, the collective sentiment of the entire Warriors organization is that Durant seems contented with his current situation.

The general feeling among Durant’s current teammates, coaches and front office staff is “he’s as happy as I’ve ever seen him” and “he’s in a great situation. He knows that.”

While Isola did not reveal names or present any additional quotes from any members of the organization, this is as legitimate as a source can get. Moreover, this is by no means a shocking revelation. Winning back-to-back NBA titles and back-to-back Finals MVP awards would definitely put an enduring smile on anybody's face.

Isola went on to say that while the entire organization understands the gravity of the situation, they remain positive about Durant's long-term plans.

The Warriors organization, from top to bottom, is well aware that Durant may leave,” he added. “But they’re also confident that he’ll stay.

The elephant in the room here is how the Warriors will be able to sign Durant to another extension next summer without breaking up the team's core. Klay Thompson is set to become an unrestricted free agent next season, so his extension will also be a priority for the team. Golden State is going to have to pay big bucks to keep the crew together, but winning helps make that decision a bit easier.
