In 2016, Kevin Durant decided to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join the Golden State Warriors. Since then, they have won back-to-back championships and are primed to win their third straight.

Durant's arrival has indeed made the Warriors more invincible, and while the prospect of winning championships may have been the ultimate reason why the 10-time All-Star decided to take his talents to the Bay Area, another person may have played a factor in bringing KD to Golden State.

Guy Fieri, the host of Food Network's “Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives,” reportedly reached out to Durant's agent back in 2016 to recruit him to join the Warriors. In a recent interview with GQ Magazine's Jay Willis, Fleri decided to address the speculations about him having some sort of impact in KD's free agency decision.

“I can't even entertain the conversation—it’s ridiculous. Look, we love KD. Like, everybody does! I don't know how that manifested itself in this story, and quite frankly, I think I’ve lost track of what the reality of the story is.”

Although Fieri didn't want to take credit for the Warriors' biggest acquisition this decade, he admitted that he loved Durant's decision to join the team.

“You know what — we all have things as kids that we hope and wish for. So I'll take part of it anyone wants to give me, because it happened, and oh my God, this is the greatest basketball I've ever experienced in my life.”

Well, Kevin Durant is set to become a free agent once again once this season is over, and maybe he can convince the reigning Finals MVP to stay with the franchise.

After all, he's partly the reason why KD's in Golden State in the first place.
