The Golden State Warriors finally got a first-look of their lottery pick from this year's NBA draft, as James Wiseman was able to join the Dubs for his first training session this week. Apparently, this year's second overall pick had way too much energy that teammate Stephen Curry likened him to being an excited puppy being let out of its cage.

Though being compared to a puppy might not be the most flattering review, Wiseman is all about it. At this point, the 19-year-old is taking what he can get.

“That analogy was really great because I was all over the place my first practice,” Wiseman told Warriors reporters on Wednesday (via NBC Sports).

A little sloppiness here and there is expected of the 7-foot-1 rookie. There are a lot of expectations on him to immediately make an impact, but he is still new to the NBA setting and the learning curve isn't always easy. What's good for the Warriors is that Wiseman's energy is more than evident and it's just a matter of channeling it the right way.

“I’m very eager,” James Wiseman added. “The first game I was all over the place and Draymond [Green] and Steph had to tell me to ‘Calm down, rook,’ but [I'm] just bringing that energy to the team and just trying to learn as much as possible.”

The one-and-done Memphis product is set to have a huge role in his first season for the Warriors. Having a two-time MVP like Stephen Curry and a five-time All-Defensive team member in Draymond Green in his ear should definitely help him develop into the superstar he is expected to be.
