VIDEO: Warriors’ Kelly Oubre Jr. spikes Kevin Durant’s shot back to Brooklyn
Saturday night’s matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets was the first time Kevin Durant returned to his former stomping ground. The Dubs honored KD with a moving tribute video prior to tip-0ff, but once the game started, the pleasantries were set aside. Just ask Warriors forward Kelly Oubre Jr., who swatted away Durant’s shot all the way back to Brooklyn.
It looked like Durant had a clear path to the basket for an easy lay-up, but Oubre had other ideas (h/t ESPN on Twitter):

Oubre showed off his hops to block what would have been an easy deuce for the returning Durant. Heads up play from the 6-foot-7 Dubs wing.
This was Durant’s first game back in San Francisco since making the move to Brooklyn in 2019. During his three-year stint with the Warriors, KD helped the squad to no less than two championships.
The Warriors appreciate all of Durant’s contributions to the franchise, and their endearing tribute video for the former MVP serves as a testament to this fact. Nevertheless, there’s no denying that Stephen Curry and Co. will do everything in their power to ensure that Durant and the Nets take the L home from this highly-anticipated matchup.
For their part, Golden State is coming off back-to-back wins and is looking to make it three straight on Saturday night.
