Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant has a big decision to make this offseason.

Durant is expected to decline his $31 million player option with the Dubs for the 2019-20 season and enter free agency. However, the Achilles injury he suffered in Game 5 of the NBA Finals put a lot of questions about his future, considering that he will likely miss the entirety of the 2019-20 campaign.

The two-time Finals MVP will still command a max salary in free agency. Nonetheless, he remains unsure of what he will do and which team he will choose given the massive change in his situation. In fact, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, KD is “doing a lot of soul searching” as he prepares to what should be a big summer.

“I’m told KD is doing a lot of soul searching right now,” Woj said, per Nets Daily. “You know. stepping back from the injury. processing all of this. KD can go back to Golden State on a five year, $200 million plus deal that gives him absolute assurance that coming off his Achilles injury, that maybe gives him something else to think about, staying in Golden State, but Brooklyn and the Knicks are very much in the fight to get Kevin Durant.”

The Knicks have long been rumored as a likely destination for Durant. Meanwhile, the Nets emerged as serious contenders for the 10-time All-Star as they try to pair him up with Kyrie Irving.

On the other hand, the Warriors have been firm in their desire to keep Durant, and they are reportedly ready to offer him a max contract.

Whatever decision Durant makes, it will surely have seismic effects to the league. However, there's no rush for him to make a decision, and he can certainly use the summer to reflect and ponder about his future.
