The Warriors failed to close out their first-round series matchup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Dubs were unable to hold off a very determined Los Angeles side, as the defending champions allowed the Clippers to force a Game 6. Warriors superstar Kevin Durant was understandably unhappy with the team's defeat and was not shy about calling out his team for their alleged bad habit of relaxing whenever they're in a comfortable spot.

“We know what we were supposed to do. We had a game plan,” Durant said. “This team has a habit, since I've been here, when we have a nice lead, we kinda relax just a little bit.”

Durant had a bit more to say about his team's misplaced complacency, and you can view the full excerpt via ClutchPoint's own YouTube channel here.

Game 5 on Wednesday night was a pretty close one, and in fact, it wasn't until deep in the fourth quarter that the Warriors were able to take the lead. Nonetheless, they let the slight advantage slip away, which would eventually result in a 129-121 Clippers victory.

Durant was actually referring to how the Warriors may have shown a bit too much complacency entering Game 5 with a 3-1 series advantage. It would have been ideal to have closed out the series in their home floor, but this simply would not be the case.

Now, the Warriors will need to win Game 6 in L.A. in order to clinch the series. The Dubs definitely do not want to allow the Clippers to force a Game 7, so surely, this should serve as the motivation they need to come out with a greater sense of urgency.
