Golden State Warriors superstar small forward Kevin Durant is universally recognized as the second-best player in the NBA, something the two-time Finals MVP admits makes him angry sometimes.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is considered the best player in the world. Durant says the “streetball mentality in me still gets riled up about” being called the second-best player in NBA and not the best.

Since joining the Warriors back in the summer of 2016, Durant has won two-straight Finals and Finals MVPs.

However, because Durant joined a 73-win Warriors team, a lot of people don't give KD the credit he deserves. Pundits believe Durant just hopped on the Dubs' bandwagon.

Durant is a better scorer and defender than James. LeBron is the superior passer and rebounder.

It feels like, though, until Durant wins a championship on a team not named the Warriors, that he's always going to be considered an inferior player to James.

KD becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer once he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Warriors. There have been rumors Durant might leave the Dubs and embark on a new challenge elsewhere, especially if Golden State wins its third-straight title.

This season, Durant is averaging 27.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from the 3-point line.
