Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson recently came under fire for criticizing the fans at Oracle Arena.

After a loss to the Phoenix Suns, Thompson pointed out that the fans didn't have much energy. The shooting guard felt the team could use more from the fans, especially with it being the last year in Oakland.

Now, he has issued an apology on Twitter:

This makes sense. It was clearly a heat of the moment comment. Klay Thompson was obviously not thrilled about losing to the Suns, a team in last place in the Western Conference.

Oracle Arena has been considered one of the loudest home courts in the NBA, so it wasn't exactly fair for Thompson to call them out in the first place. Even on an off night, they produce more noise than a lot of other arenas. You could also forgive the fans for expecting their team to beat a tanking Suns squad.

However, it appears Thompson wants to put the comments behind him, which is the smart play. Thompson is well-loved by the Warriors faithful, and there's no reason to linger on these comments.

The Warriors' next game at Oracle Arena is on March 21 after a road trip. It will be interesting to see if the home fans bring the energy, and what type they bring for Klay Thompson.
