After a rough start to the 2019 playoffs, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson needed to clear his head. His solution was to spend a day at the beach and get into the ocean before Game 4.

Many joked about Thompson's odd choice, but on Tuesday he took it a step further. He connected his story to Earth Day, which was celebrated on Monday, April 22.

Perhaps Klay Thompson's success story will encourage other to do the same. It's hard to argue with the results. Thompson scored less than 20 points in the first three games of their first round match-up against the Los Angeles Clippers. But after a day off at the beach, he was phenomenal in Game 4 and put up 32 points to help the Warriors secure a 3-1 series advantage.

Often overshadowed by flashy superstars like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, Thompson has quietly been a great player for years. He was named to his fifth All-Star team in as many years this season. The 29-year-old averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 46.7 percent this 2018-19 campaign.

The Warriors are just one win away from advancing to the second round of the playoffs, where they would face either the Houston Rockets or the Utah Jazz. Golden State will look for that fourth win against the Clippers on Wednesday night.
