Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson has recently been having a bit of fun on his boat. On Friday, he used a little bit of that time to campaign for an NBA team to return to Seattle. Klay can be seen, via BleacherReport, driving his boat with no hands and showcasing his shirt which has the famous picture of Jimi Hendrix in a Sonics jersey plastered across the front of it.

With Klay seemingly all-in on the Sonics or another team to return to Seattle, the immediate question comes to mind…would Klay want to play there? Although Thompson was born in Los Angeles when his dad Mychal played for the Lakers, Thompson was actually raised in the Pacific Northwest and attendee Washington State University. The thoughts of coming back home to play for your hometown team is always intriguing, and Klay has to be hoping to step out of the shadow of Steph Curry at some point in his career, the chances seem high that he could find himself playing for the very team that he is currently lobbying to being back.

Then again, Thompson is about to be 32 years old in a couple of months and can't really afford any time on a rebuilding expansion team. If he is ever to leave the Warriors it would have to be for a chance to immediately chase a championship. So, while the idea of “Seattle Klay” sounds like a lot of fun, it is highly unlikely to ever come to fruition.
