The NBA and Golden State Warriors have banned Warriors investor Mark Stevens from NBA games for one year and fined him $500,000 for his altercation with Raptors All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry.

The ban also includes Warriors team activities through the 2019-20 season, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The $500,000 is almost like pocket change to Stevens, who is a millionaire. It's about sending a message, though, and the NBA and Warriors sent the right one.

It's hard to imagine what Stevens was thinking when he shoved Lowry. It's one of the most insensitive things we've seen happen at an NBA game. Stevens needs to remember he's at Lowry's workplace and that he's watching them perform.

That's now three incidents that have happened this season at NBA games. First it was the Utah Jazz fan yelling a racial slur at Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook. Then we had the incident in Boston with Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins and a Celtics fan. Now, the Stevens and Lowry incident has been the talk much of the day and it's taking over the discussion about the actual game which is being played.

Game 4 on Friday could be the last game at Oracle Arena, as the Warriors are moving to the Chase Center next season and down 2-1 in the series to the Raptors.
