Klay Thompson has gone viral of late. This time it wasn't because of the Golden State Warriors star's red-hot shooting, but rather his (somewhat) doppelgänger stirring up trouble.

Dawson Gurley, a popular YouTuber with a faint resemblance to Klay Thompson, managed to sneak past security while impersonating the Splash Brother. He even caught it on camera:

The viral stunt caught the attention of the Warriors' security at Chase Center, which has resulted in a lifetime ban for the YouTuber known on the platform as BigDawsTV.

Klay Thompson himself was asked about his impersonator and the fact that he was barred from attending any event, Warriors game or otherwise, at Chase Center for life. Klay actually felt sorry for the bloke.

Via Grant Marek of SFGate:

“Oh man, poor guy,” the actual Thompson said Wednesday prior to Warriors-Celtics Game 6. “Just trying to get some good content.”

But while it sounds like Klay Thompson actually believes that the punishment was quite harsh, the Warriors star did offer some sound wisdom about the fate of Mr. Gurley:

“You play stupid games you get rewarded stupid prizes,” Klay added.

However, with other teams and players actually lining up to collaborate with “fake” Klay after getting banned from Warriors home games, he's probably not in his feelings all that much about it.
