The Golden State Warriors appear to be the clear favorites to bring home a third-straight championship, but Shaquille O'Neal thinks there might be a chance for an upset.

Shaquille O'Neal discussed the possibility of this season going off the rails for the Warriors.

“Self destruction,” he said on the The Big Podcast with Shaq. “After that little scuffle they had a couple games where they didn’t look good at all.

“If scuffles like that continue then maybe they will self implode.”

It may sound completely crazy to think the Warriors will self-destruct, but dynasties have imploded before the Warriors. For one, O'Neal's Lakers dynasty during the early part of the 2000s ended abruptly with a stunning loss in the NBA Finals. The Lakers entered the 2004 NBA Finals as heavy favorites against the Detroit Pistons, but the squad was dispatched in five games. O'Neal left for Miami that summer and closed the book and the dominant force out West.

With Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson set to be free agents this summer, there is the potential for major change in Golden State. Perhaps, an unexpected loss in the playoffs would make that an inevitability.

Of course, if the Warriors are at their best, they are nearly unbeatable. But back to O'Neal's original point, the internal strife could be enough to throw Golden State off its game. Things can change quickly in the league and although Golden State's dynasty looks like it will go on forever, the end is inevitable. Now, it's just a matter of figuring out when it will end.
