It's just win after win after win for Stephen Curry after his tremendous 2021-22 campaign with the Golden State Warriors. The latest hardware the greatest shooter of all time is adding to his trophy cabinet is the ESPY Award for the Best NBA Player for 2022 — an honor that Curry had undoubtedly earned.

Curry was named as the best player in the league during Wednesday's ESPYs award as he beat out fellow nominees Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, and Joel Embiid (h/t Warriors Nation on Twitter):

Doncic arguably had his best season as a pro this past year as he led the Dallas Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since the Dirk Nowitzki era. Nikola Jokic, on the other hand, just bagged his second consecutive MVP award, beating out Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid for the coveted title.

Be that as it may, it is clear that Stephen Curry's season-long performance for the Warriors stands out from the rest — at least in the eyes of the experts over at ESPN. Steph put up some dizzying numbers this past season, averaging 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.3 steals, while also connecting on 4.5 triples per game at a 38.0-percent clip.

The former back-to-back MVP stepped it up for Golden State when it mattered the most, carrying his squad throughout what was a tremendous playoff run. Curry took it to another level in the NBA Finals, as he led his team to their fourth title in the past eight years.

Doncic, Jokic, and Embiid all had outstanding years, but it's hard to deny that Curry absolutely deserves the honor of being the best player in the NBA last season.
