Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is expected to host a San Francisco PGA Tour event in 2021, per Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The San Francisco Parks and Recreations Commission unanimously approved an amendment in their contract with the PGA Tour that will lead to the Warriors superstar hosting an event in San Francisco. Curry's initial talks were aimed at hosting the event at Daly City’s Lake Merced Golf Club. However, Steph now wants the event at a public course.

As everyone knows, Curry is a huge golf fanatic. Last weekend, he came in fourth place in the Lake Tahoe celebrity golf tournament. It was his eighth appearance in the competition. The two-time MVP and three-time champion with the Warriors is also an executive producer on the ABC show Holey Moley.

Curry only played in five games during the 2019-20 season. He broke his hand in the fourth game of the campaign and needed two surgeries. The Warriors had the worst record in the NBA before games were suspended in March, so the team wasn't invited to the “bubble” games down in Orlando, Florida.

Curry finished the 2019-20 season with averages of 20.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists. Everyone in Golden State is eager to see the team play in 2020-21 after the rough 2019-20 season.
