Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry could join a very select group of elite company tonight at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks, joining Michael Jordan and LeBron James as the only players to have reached the 50-point milestone multiple times at the mecca of basketball, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

A then baby-faced Curry torched the New York Knicks for a career-high 54 points — a game which has been known as his ‘coming-out party' as one of the NBA's elite players.

Curry's shooting clinic came on the form of a 18-of-28 shooting night from the field, including a deadeye 11-of-13 from deep and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free-throw line, despite coming on a 109-105 loss of a then Carmelo Anthony-led Knicks' squad.

Tomorrow will eerily mark the five-year anniversary of his career-best performance, one that showed just how innately he has defied the norms of basketball and proven he can shoot the lights out even in one of the NBA's most largely-celebrated arenas.

Curry would go on to have more massive performances for the Warriors that season, dropping 39 against the Portland Trail Blazers, 47 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and 44 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the San Antonio Spurs.

The now-29-year-old has had three 40-point games since the start of the year, coming a point shy to the 50-point mark in late January against the Boston Celtics.

Curry has five 50-point games to his name, four of them have come on the road. Though the Golden State Warriors' marksman has not reached the milestone since a 51-point outing against the Orlando Magic on Feb. 25, 2016 — during his unanimous MVP season.

If it's any sign of foretelling, four out of his five 50-point games have come in the month of February, making it a likely instance that he can join the likes of Jordan and James as the only ones to reach this phenomenal feat.
