Many people expected Game 4 to be the last of the playoffs for the Denver Nuggets. Just like many expect Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry to knock down his free throws.

Neither scenario transpired in Game 4 of the Warriors-Nuggets series.

Denver avoided being eliminated with a 126-121 victory, and Curry shockingly missed a playoff career-high four free throws. The minor misfortunes irritated the three-time champion.

“I missed free throws, and I hate it,” Curry told ClutchPoints. “It’s the worst feeling in the world. It’s what I do really well. Misses were all in-and-outs, pretty much. Two front rims, two in-and-outs. So I know what to correct on that. I’m glad I got there 14 times, which speaks to how I’m feeling physically.”

The two-time MVP had a team-high 33 points off the bench. It was Curry’s second 30-point game while coming off the bench. The Warriors guard played his most minutes since returning from injury, which is a good sign for Curry and the team.

Unfortunately, those missed free throws came back to haunt Golden State. A few more made free throws could have changed the outcome of the game.

But that's just one thing. There were a plethora of other issues during this game that determined the Warriors' fate. 11 first-half turnovers, Jordan Poole’s first off night of the playoffs, and Draymond Green fouling out in the fourth quarter were all crucial mishaps.

Fortunately, the Warriors are up 3-1 in the series and have another chance to end the series Wednesday. The Dubs will be at home, and Curry will likely find some peace at the free-throw line in that game.
