Stephen Curry is expecting the Golden State Warriors' galactic new signing to give them a much different dynamic coming into this 2018-19 season.

As the hopes and expectations center on a three-peat, the addition of an injured DeMarcus Cousins could largely benefit the team or potentially set back a winning formula if things go haywire.

Curry noted his peace of mind about the situation in an interview with Bill Simmons on The Ringer Podcast.

“I think all the way through, just the benefit of being on our team, obviously for him, is there’s no rush for him to come back. He can really take his time and get right,” said Curry. “But, when I look at just the opportunity that comes past January, February, whenever he comes back, to the playoffs, it gives us a whole new dynamic. And whatever type of DeMarcus shows up — I know he expects to be back to fully 100 percent and we do too—[he] gives us a new dimension that we haven’t had before, a guy that can actually go get a bucket on the block. We can have guys, shooters around him.”

Curry also noted some of Cousins' less-talked-about skills, as he averaged an unreal 5.4 assists per game (a career high) last season before hitting the shelf with a torn Achilles.

“He’s actually an amazing playmaker, and you’ve seen it in New Orleans. But when he gets the ball at the top of the key, he can break the bigs down and he’s a great passer,” said Curry. “Coach Kerr loves great passing big men that can read the defense and make plays. So it’s going to be amazing, man. I’m excited about it. Obviously.”

The Warriors have only had Andrew Bogut, Festus Ezeli, Zaza Pachulia, and JaVale McGee, among others, as experiments at the center position, but none of them put together can equal Cousins' arsenal of tools — one he's likely raring to put on display once he fully recovers from this devastating injury.
