Members of the Golden State Warriors were handed their 2018 championship ring on Tuesday night moments before their season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Having won three titles over the past four years, one could assume these festivities could very easily become a run-of-the-mill occurrence for the champs. Well, this certainly isn't the case for two-time MVP winner Stephen Curry, who still absolutely relishes every moment of the prestigious ceremony.

“I don't think I'll ever be at a point where it's kind of a ‘blah' moment when you're receiving a ring and seeing a banner come down and seeing all those trophies,” said Curry, per Tom Webber of Sporting News.

In fact, the five-time All-Star is certain that any recognition of this sort will always be significant for him. In case he forgets, Curry recommends that he be reminded swiftly and forcefully.

“If that ever happens I hope someone just slaps me in the face and smacks some sense into me because this is a special opportunity we have,” he added.

It was indeed an emotional night for Curry and the Warriors, and fortunately for them, they were able to ride that wave of emotion towards an opening-night victory against the Russell Westbrook-less Thunder.

Curry was particularly outstanding, leading the way for his team in their quest for a three-peat. The 30-year-old point guard led the Warriors with 32 points on 11-of-20 shooting, along with five 3-pointers, eight rebounds, nine assists, a steal, and three turnovers. He was also a perfect 5-of-5 from the charity stripe.

The Warriors proved too overwhelming for Paul George and the Thunder in a 108-100 victory.
