The Golden State Warriors got their superstar back in Stephen Curry on Saturday night for Game 1 of the NBA playoffs. But he was nowhere to be found in the starting lineup.

Coming off his foot injury that forced him to miss the final 12 games of the regular season, Stephen Curry was able to make his return in time. But he had to make do with coming off the bench and playing just 22 minutes as he struggled to find a rhythm throughout the game.

The Warriors star spoke out on the challenge of shifting gears in a bench role after the game.

“I have no expectations on what's next. We're always trying to figure this out because this is a tough situation to deal with in terms of the quick ramp up that I've had. This is a playoff type of intensity and atmosphere,” said Curry.

Steph Curry finished with just 16 points on 5-for-13 shooting as he tried to provide a spark for Golden State during the limited minutes he was on the floor. While he's definitely not used to the limited role, he said he did learn a lot from watching Klay Thompson trying to do the same earlier in the season.

“I learned a lot from just watching Klay's comeback. There's an energy to start, but there's also how do you make those minutes the most impactful,” the Warriors star continued.

It remains to be seen just how long Stephen Curry will continue to come off the Warriors bench. But it's hard to imagine him staying cold for much longer.
