Golden State Warriors rookie James Wiseman suffered yet another blow as he had an awkward landing in his right knee midway through their game against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. He finished the game early as he headed straight to the locker rooms and is scheduled to have an MRI to further determine the severity of his injury, via The Athletic‘s Anthony Slater.

His teammates in Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole then expressed their optimism in Wiseman's ability to bounce back and return for the Warriors' coming games.

“Hopefully he doesn’t miss too much time,” Curry said. “It seems like when he takes a couple strides, he gets dealt a little adversity, so it’s kinda tough.”

“I asked him if he was straight,” Poole said. “He said he was all right. He’s tough. He’ll be all right.”

On the floor, the 20-year-old center was initially going for a dunk until he was met by Rockets swingman Kenyon Martin Jr. who wanted to swat the ball out of his hands. Wiseman then had a bad fall as he seemingly hurt his right knee after the play.

The Warriors' staff opted to take him out of the game on the next whistle as he finished the contest with six points and an assist made through six minutes of action. Despite their starting big man's absence, the team still managed to pull through as they banked on Curry's productive stat line of 38 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

Golden State eventually powered their way to a 125-109 victory to improve to a 25-28 slate for the 10th spot in the Western Conference. After the win, the Warriors are still hanging in the balance as they are uncertain as to when the rookie will be back on the floor after sustaining the knee injury.

Without James Wiseman's presence in the middle, Draymond Green is once again expected to play small-ball five until the Warriors get their starting center back on the floor.
