Before the Golden State Warriors faced off against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night, two-time MVP point guard Stephen Curry decided to show off his own attempt at the popular “Junebug Challenge” that has taken the online world by storm.
As seen in the clip, Stephen Curry hopped up on the scorer’s table during shootaround ahead of the game. He then began the rather odd-looking dance phenomenon that's more like “Walking Like an Egyptian” from days of yore.
Rookie James Wiseman, who was standing right next to Curry as he began to groove, cannot help but get in the vibe and laugh as Curry himself chuckled and smiled to his other Warriors teammates.
The Warriors are 12-11 entering the contest, which is surprisingly good considering they were missing Draymond Green to start the season and are expected to not have Klay Thompson healthy the entire year.
Couple that with a dreadful start to the season for new acquisition Kelly Oubr and things were looking quite ugly for Golden State.
Despite that, the good news is that Steph is back and fully healthy, and he’s playing like the All-Star fans all know and love. He is putting up spectacular numbers for the Warriors on his highest usage percentage (32.5 percent) since his MVP season of 2015-16.
In 33.7 minutes a game, Steph is logging 29.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 42.5 percent from deep on 11.3 attempts (the second-highest of his career).
It’s definitely good to see Steph back with the Warriors and thriving…and having fun while he’s at it.
