The Golden State Warriors are now preparing for the most open season in recent memory. They're no longer the favorites to win the NBA title after losing a number of key personnel this offseason. Moreover, there are a good five teams in the Western Conference who can possibly win it all. However, Steve Kerr doesn't mind any of that at all.

The Warriors head coach is calmer than ever when asked about the team's coming approach this season. He answered that the approach is a rather simple one.

It may seem like the Warriors regressed after being dominant for so long if they will have to rely on pick-and-rolls to get their shots. However, fans will forget that Kerr is simply going back to his roots.

When he first started as the Warriors head coach in 2014, he reinvented the game by focusing on the three-point shot. Both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson ran through a ridiculous amount of picks to get open.

This return to the pick-and-roll play only means that the Warriors will become a lot more interesting to watch this season. Of course, the have to deal with chemistry issues and trying to fit D'Angelo Russell into the system. However, there's no reason to believe that it wouldn't work.

In other news, he revealed that he wasn't surprised with Kevin Durant's decision to leave the Warriors for the Brooklyn Nets:

“For whatever reason, it just kind of ran its course. I don't know why. I do think we're in a different era where players are more interested by new challenges … players see that there's a huge expanse out there; there's this horizon with so many different opportunities. And so you're just gonna have fewer teams that stick together for a long period of time.”

This is an interesting time for the Dubs. If Kerr manages to pull through with what he's got and lead the Warriors to another championship, he will definitely be considered as one of the greatest coaches in the game.
