Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has been fined $25,000 by the league office for verbally abusing an official:

The incident occurred in the second quarter of a 111-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings, as Kerr was irate at young official Jason Goldenberg. Kerr appeared to be initially upset about a continuation call that went the Kings' way, then soon erupted after his team did not receive a similar call.

The Warriors coach walked onto the court furious after the second technical and yelled at Goldenberg before leaving, making use of some choice words for the young referee, visibly telling him “wake up, wake your a** up. Wake the f*** up.” It was quite the scene:

Kerr is no stranger to getting tossed out of games, but this was one of his biggest blowups yet.

Assistant coach Mike Brown took over for Kerr for the remainder of the game, one in which the Warriors struggled to connect from distance.

Golden State missed its first 17 3-pointers and finished the game shooting 5-of-26 from distance (19.2%). Meanwhile, the Kings feasted by making 15-of-30 from beyond the arc.

The Warriors managed to keep a respectable score due to their 32 trips to the foul line, but it was all for naught, as Kerr and Golden State took yet another loss, this time their fifth in a row.

Golden State will regroup for Wednesday's game against the mighty Milwaukee Bucks, one of many tough encounters awaiting the team in January.
