Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has long been a vocal proponent of fighting racism and social injustice. Although Kerr is currently unable to use the NBA bubble's platform since the Dubs were part of the “Delete 8”, the 54-year-old tactician continues to preach his support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Kerr recently tackled the sensitive subject of the importance of having more White Americans lending their voice and actually having healthy discussions concerning the matter.

“I think our job really is to educate ourselves and our teams, and to use our voices to amplify the message, because a lot of this stuff people don’t want to talk about,” Kerr said, per Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.  “Racism is very difficult to talk about, especially for white people. And it’s crucial that we discuss race in America.”

“It’s crucial that we discuss our nation’s history of racism, and it’s crucial that we confront it and don’t sort of hide behind it,” the muti-titled player-turned-coach added.

The issue of racial equality will always be a tricky subject to discuss, which is why a lot of people elect to just take on a neutral stance. However, Kerr believes that empathy does go a long way in terms of fully grasping the injustices that black people face on a daily basis.

The NBA, meanwhile, is indeed one of the biggest multi-cultural sports leagues in the world. While the majority of the players are African-Americans, it's nice to see players from other races embrace the movement each time they step foot on the hardwood. Steve Kerr and others following his path will continue to be a beacon of light for the league going forward.
